With all this talk about the recent Iceland volcano eruption , I went to check out the place. Well, I mean i checked it out on the web. It seems like a pretty cool place to go if you like volcano, mountains, natural springs.  I’m sure there is other stuff to do there as well. Iceland is also famous for their glaciers, hot pots and landscapes. And now they are famous for the volcanic eruptions. Hundreds of people in southern Iceland had to be evacuated as the Eyjafjallajokull‎ volcano erupted under a glacier.

I remember from school that Iceland is where the vikings were from. Or was that Greenland. Don’t for get the rule “Iceland is green and Greenland has ice”. That whats my 3rd grade teacher taught us.

One thing i noticed is that i could not find a hotel that had a bathtub in it. Maybe because of the lack of sapce, the houses do seem crowded there

Here is a bathroom from the Hotel Vik Arctic Comfort. This famous Iceland hotel is centrally located in the downtown area. It is walking distance from the famous Kringlan shopping center, and is only about 10 minutes away from Laugardalur.

Note, that there is no tub un this bathroom. Although, the shower enclosures i fairly modern looking. Im sure with a bit more help from a designer this bathroom could have passed for a modern masterpiece.

The Iceland Hotel Loftleidir located in a peaceful area in Reykjavik. The hotel boasts 220 rooms, considered large by standards Iceland and is only a 15 minute walk from the downtown center of Reykjavík.

The hotel boasts a luxurious pool and spa area.

And beautiful modern rooms.

The Plaza boasts updated rooms and very modern bathrooms. The bathrooms include an above counter square sink. Modern faucets and modern vanities. The tiles are light and ad a nice warm color that makes it feel like there is more room and light.

I always wondered if images for hotels on the web are real.  (Notice the shower stall. No bathtub ;  )

Well I sure hope that the images above were put up by the wrong hotel. Anyone checkout the hotels web site and expects a bathroom like above and find one of these …

Is likely to explode and erupt. Remember Iceland is a beautiful country and you shoudl go check it out. Before you go to any hotel make sure to checkout the hotel really well.
